As You Wander and Roam

Each person’s journey is individual
twists and turns
challenges surmounted
fog clouds
storms
hearts broken
tears streak cheeks
understanding another’s plight
can be gleaned from
what we faced
finding ways to help a friend
or stranger
provides support and comfort
while darkness overwhelms
blocking the road

encountering others
wherever we wander
and roam
loving gestures are keys
which unlock light
on the journey
an extended hand, a listening ear,
an open heart, a visit
are forms of love and attention
which are gifts lifting
in times of trial
a fabulous by product,
not sought,
but light, even joy,
is reflected back
for future roads
we must traverse

Matthew 25:35

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink.  I was a stranger and you invited me in…  36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

40  “The King will reply, “Truly I tell you whatever you did for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
