While We are Waiting

Today is the first Sunday in Advent, where we light the candle of hope.

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Romans 12:12

God has promised us, so I hope.
God has told us that suffering will come to our doorstep, so I courageously hope for better times.
God has asked us to pray.
Where will I find hope this Advent?

Here is a short hymn, “While We are Waiting, Come.” In the waiting, I sing this song as a centering prayer throughout Advent.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
Romans 15:13

I hope each day of the Advent season will bring you closer to God and touch your heart so you can share this light with others.
