We are often wrapped up in our thoughts when small acts of kindness surround us. When I am blessed with these moments, they remind me that we inherently have good hearts that try to help the world be a better place. It gives me the courage to do the same, despite the current environment that makes me hesitate most days for fear of a harsh no thank you or physical harm.
So, I’ll share these moments I witnessed and hope you find ways to share kindness daily that feel safe and within your comfort levels. For example, on an NYC subway ride home, I watched someone get up from their seat to share a plastic bag with someone who had ripped their paper bag upon boarding the train. On another occasion, I saw a person deep in conversation with a friend pause to share their restaurant takeout bag with a person passing through the train cars asking for donations.
These examples remind me of a saying from Sister Carol that we may be the only Christ people see today. So may you give kindness and receive encouragement each day.

Isaiah 41:13
This is a classic video that will still make you smile.

This is so encouraging and touching. One act of kindness from each of us can make the difference and who knows how far reaching it will go.
Thanks Jenny C-
We can find a way to show more kindness. Nice you witnessed several on the subways.
