Best View After Hard Climb

Ted terms his fall—the ordeal

                      his failing eyesight prevented him

                      from seeing second garage step

                      appropriate  adjectives—determination

                      and courage

dealt with lengthy wait for surgery

                      he performed necessary therapy

                      walking always has provided pleasure

I am steps ahead, he walks behind–

I turn to tell him of bicycles’ approach

                      and sidewalk cracks

my fantastic view—                       Ted walking again!

I love the picture this well-written poem paints of not only the courage this “ordeal” was met with by both (thank You, Jesus!) but the way the poet and her beloved continue to walk in unique synchronicity of their covenantal love…

I pictured them with their eyes forward and also up.

    Beautiful job, Ted and Lynn
