Hope at Work

When my thoughts turn to a friend’s needs

                   I concentrate on hope—

                   quiet word holding power and promise

                   fervent, positive

                   often used in prayers

                   if one is still, trusts, believes

                   hope’s presence , a catalyst

                   darkness dispels

                   answers appear

                   breaking through as

                   bulbs release daffodils and tulips

                   from the soil.
