It all starts with a Choir

In this week between Christmas and New Year’s, I am not ready to turn my back on Christmas Music or the joy that a choir singing any tune can bring me.

So, I thought I should share some of my favorites from choirs around the world singing the wonderful John Rutter’s works…

I hope today this post gives you some peace as we pray for peace together.

Marcie, thank you for this post and the music of John Rutter…nothing like a piece of music that John Rutter composed. Many years ago as a member of Symphony Chorus we had the honor of being a part of a program called “The Great American Chorus”. It was about 500 voices from all over the country and John Rutter was the guest conductor who gave a workshop to us. We sang at Carnegie Hall a thrill I can’t describe. And John Rutter’s music can help us to bring peace individually and to the world.

    1. marciedoll – East Greenwich, RI – I have enjoyed working for over 20 years in the education and publishing spaces, creating accessible learning environments for all students. My teaching experiences led me to support schools in need of improvement and develop and deliver professional development to teachers and leaders. And then, I moved into selling educational materials, programs, technology, and services. Most recently, I have been developing content for innovative learning programs in K-12 and museum spaces. For the past 17 years serving on the board of the Collegiate Corporation, I have led initiatives in women's leadership, stewardship, development, virtual strategy, and educational programs for youth and families. Outside the learning and non-profit spaces, I enjoy blogging about faith and inspiring women. In addition, I have a passion for travel, where you might find me exploring national parks and museums and finding the best local restaurant to eat at. I capture my adventures digitally with my camera. My photography has appeared in exhibitions throughout Europe and Australia in 2019 and 2020, on television in the United States, and was chosen from over 100,000 entries to appear in a well-known photography magazine.

Kathy, oh how exciting for you to sing at Carnegie Hall! Thank you for sharing!

  2. Madeline Bialecki – St. Clair Shores, MI – I have been writing since I was a child (in my diary) and then publicly for my nonprofit work since college. I write spiritual reflections and essays for my blog and other publications.

    Lovely. Thank you for sharing.
