“Christ has no body now, but yours. No hands, no feet on earth, but yours. Yours are the eyes through which Christ looks compassion into the world. Yours are the feet with which Christ walks to do good. Yours are the hands with which Christ blesses the world.”
– St. Teresa of Avila
Oh the blessing of a kind touch. In the Bible, Jesus’ touch heals countless people. Those who touch his garment are changed forever. And he in turn is blessed by Mary of Bethany who anoints his feet with oil and dries them with her hair. Our hands have such power to help others, to bless the world in both small and infinite ways. Sometimes I take my own for granted. Do you?
Please take a moment to behold your hands, to realize all they have done and are able to touch. What a miracle they are! What blessings they can bring! We can feed the hungry, soothe pains, plant seeds, clean corners, invent, create, fold in prayer, hold a child, and comfort a grieving soul. My mother’s aging hands were gnarled with arthritis, but absolutely beautiful to me because they were always love in action. May all of ours be the kind hands with which Christ blesses the world. May it be so.

We hope you do not mind, but we have a few bonus blogs for the after Easter week, so while Lent is over and Jesus has risen, the spirit of kindness lives on. Marcie

These blogs are wonderful…keep sending them as long as you like…indeed hands are wonderful…I thought right away of the letters I write in an age where hand written letters seem to be a thing of the past but can express so much. Thank you Patrice for your blog.
This is beautiful, Patrice. Thank you
