Walk in the Light

Shared by Rev. Brittany Juliette Hanlin

“Walk in the light
(walk in the light)
Beautiful light
(beautiful light)
Come where the dewdrops of mercy shine bright
(Oh Lord)
Shine all around us by day and by night
Oh oh oh oh, Jesus is the light of the world…”

Advent is a season of watching and waiting, but it also a season of LIGHT! We light the candles of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love as a reminder of God’s light in the world. In the winter months we lose sunlight and we are covered in the cloak of darkness and it can be so hard to find the illumining light forward… BUT BELOVED, remember to shine your light in the world. The light of Christ lives in each of us, which calls us to have hope for the future, to cultivate inner peace, to find joy in small pleasures and extend love to everyone we meet. Jesus is the light of the world and it’s up to us to share His light with the world. May we open our hearts and shine our light so brightly that all who meet will meet the love and light of Christ as well.
