By Lynn Doll
the pillars of hope are found in faith
one must believe
without this foundation
there is no anchor when storms rage
and sorrows overwhelm
prayers are lifted by believers
whispered or spoken
fervent intentions for others
knee deep in trauma
or bereft from sadness or alone
faith guides
hope ignites
answers… not always as one may pray
in God’s time and
in His Way
through Advent we journey
toward Christmas with anticipation
Christ born for all mankind
His teachings our gifts
acknowledging faith
using hope to open
our hearts and hands
spreading love
“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”
Hebrews 6:19
“faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see,”
Hebrews 11:1

Faith is truly the pillar life. During Advent we may renew our faith until the cessation of Christmas day
This beautiful poem has had me contemplating the relationship between faith and hope…I’m still meditating on their interplay.
The Scriptures are always wonderful to take in to my heart and mind.
I appreciate the unique form of this also. The spacing on the page adds to its beauty and invitation to slow down and taste each thought.
Beautifully done, Lynn!
With appreciation I read your stamp of approval, Karen. I know of your talent and the way you create words to dance and echo sounds of your heart.
