Dancing…

You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever!

Psalm 30:11-12

Some years ago at my daughter’s wedding coming off the dance floor someone came up to me and whispered in my ear that I was my most authentic self when I danced. I found it a little strange, but now I understand perhaps he saw me clothed in the joy of dancing for our Lord. The pure delight and feasting of the occasion took hold and I sang his praises through my dancing.
