Just suppose
I had clear sailing
flowing from
my cup
of life,
would my journey
require faith
with prayers
to sustain me?

Instead if
my experience
knew sorrow,
woe
how would I be?

If at times
angels accompanied
me through
darkness,
might this
memory
guide me
further?

Knowing absence
of light
having faced
challenges,
loss
how deeply
these
penetrate,
could this push
me to help
another
in plight?

Would learning,
having felt grace, solace
cause me
to embrace
someone
using an
understanding heart
and listening soul?
