Some inspiration from Dolly…

Rainbow

This is a picture of a rainbow right outside of Reykjavik, Iceland during a snow storm.

I was recently reminded of what a treasure the songwriter, singer, actress, mogul, philanthropist, and entertainer Dolly Parton is.  Right after a massive forest fire hit her home region, she started to funnel money in to help small businesses and homeowners get back on their feet.

But it is the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a book gift-giving foundation that always makes my heart sing.  Children receive a book a month in Eastern Tennessee, so that all children no matter their parent’s circumstances will have their own in home library.  She has given 100 Million Books away and was honored recently by the US Library of Congress.  It has also spread to the rest of the world too.

Here are some quotes and musical treasures from Dolly:

“The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.”
“If you don’t like the road you’re walking, start paving another one.”
“Storms make trees take deeper roots.”
“Find out who you are and do it on purpose.”
